Behind our figures

Our prices, service records and customer payments measure different things. Use the scope and dates below when comparing them with another provider’s offer.

Prices
From our booking calculator Examples displayed 14 October 2026. Review the current total for your selections in booking.
How this is measured

The examples use the booking calculator and include GST and Care & Cover. They refresh periodically and may retain the last available figures when a data read fails. Confirm your current total in booking. These are service examples, not amounts paid by past customers.

Our record
166 completed cleans on the Gold Coast, since 2018. Data through 13 October 2026.
How this is measured

Eligible completed Simply Maid cleans across service types on our historical and current booking platforms. Repeat visits count separately; this is not a count of customers or standard cleans alone.

Paid by customers
Not enough records for a median 1 eligible standard cleans on the Gold Coast since our current booking platform began in April 2026.
How this is measured

A median requires at least 30 eligible completed cleans and 20 distinct customers in the same service and geographic sample. We do not replace a missing local sample with the national result.

The same cleaner is assigned to each service.[8]

It usually works in two-person teams; one cleaner can come regularly if you prefer.[9]

From $60 an hour per person, plus GST.[4]Its house cleaning page asks you to get in touch for a quote.

Each offer is one total price for the task, agreed before the work starts.[12]Set by each Tasker. Open-ended hourly offers settled after the job fall outside Airtasker's payment guidelines.

Fees you pay on top

The price you see includes GST and a Care & Cover fee (insurance and card processing). A same-day booking adds $40, which you accept first.[13]No weekend, pet or second-storey surcharge.

Extras are priced separately, for example oven cleaning $60, inside fridge $40, interior window glass from $65; a deep-clean upgrade adds $136.[11]Its extras table says these prices exclude GST.

Paid parking is added to the final invoice, and a $50 fee may apply if cleaners can't enter because of unsecured pets.[14]

Not stated in the sources we reviewed

A Connection Fee of $9.95 to $59.95 (including GST), set by the task price, paid when you assign a Tasker.[15]Waived with an $89-a-year membership. The Tasker's own service fee comes out of the agreed price, not on top.

Equipment and products

The cleaner brings products and equipment, including a vacuum and mop.[16]

Every cleaner arrives with cleaning products and equipment (vacuum, mop, microfibre cloths).[7]

Cleaners come fully prepared and don't need you to supply any products or equipment.[8]

Its FAQ says it uses plant-based cleaning products whenever possible.[4]

Agreed for each task; there's no platform default.[17]Customers are asked to say what equipment they have; Taskers arrange what's needed.

Insurance

Care & Cover on every booking includes up to $10 million public liability insurance through Chubb.[18]Conditions and exclusions apply; report damage within 48 hours.

Its FAQ says its public liability policy covers accidental damage.[7]No amount published on the pages we reviewed.

Its site says it is insured.[3]No amount published on the pages we reviewed.

Its pages say its cleaners are insured and bonded.[4]No amount published on the pages we reviewed.

If something is missed

Report a missed task within 48 hours and eligible concerns get a free re-clean of those areas within seven business days. If you're still unhappy, a review and a fair credit or refund.[20]Doesn't apply if access, water or power was missing, or the scope changed after booking.

If anything is missed on a flat-rate clean and you tell it within 24 hours, it comes back to fix it at no extra cost.[7]Its terms say complaints must be lodged within 12 hours.

Report a problem within 24 hours of the service for a follow-up visit at no extra cost; if you are still unhappy, its terms offer a full refund of the original service cost.[14]Breakages must be reported within 48 hours of the service.

It says it will come back to clean the specific areas that didn't meet your expectations, and offers a refund if you're not satisfied with the job.[9]No conditions or reporting window published.

A free dispute service once work has started; Airtasker reviews both sides and decides.[21]Its insurance excludes poor workmanship, and it suggests asking Taskers about their own cover.

Cancelling or rescheduling

Free with at least 24 hours' notice. Inside 24 hours, a fee may apply under the current terms.[6]If the cleaner can't get in after 20 minutes, the booking is cancelled and the lockout fee in the current terms applies.

Free more than 24 hours before the clean; a flat $60 fee inside 24 hours; a no-show or lockout costs 70% of the booking total.[22]

Less than 48 hours' notice: 25% of the quoted amount; less than 24 hours: 50%; less than 4 hours: 100%.[14]

Not stated in the sources we reviewed

Either side asks to cancel and the other accepts. If you're found responsible you lose the Connection Fee; the task price is refunded.[17]With no reply in 48 hours the task cancels automatically. Illness or travel problems don't count as exceptions.

When you pay

A card hold about 48 hours before the clean; the charge is taken after it.[23]Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Your card is pre-authorised (held) the day before the clean and the final amount is charged once the visit is complete.[7]

Invoices are due within 7 calendar days; a $50 late-payment fee applies if payment is more than 14 days past the due date.[14]Saver plan cleans are charged at the end of each service.

PayPal or credit card.[9]

Your card is charged when you accept an offer, and Airtasker holds the money until you release it after the task.[24]Released payments can't be recovered in a dispute. Cash isn't supported.

Cleaning companies on the Gold Coast, by type

Domestic cleaners on the Gold Coast come through five kinds of business, and the kind decides who sets the price, who you pay and who sorts out a problem.

  • Cleaning companies (the business runs the service itself: it sets the price, arranges the cleaner or team and handles problems): Gold Coast Cleans, Cleaner Space, The Cleaning Lady, Totally Houseproud, Maid2Match.
  • Booking platforms (the business sets the price and takes the booking, and independent cleaners do the work): Zenpure Cleaning, Clean4you, Simply Maid (us).
  • Agencies (you're matched with a cleaner, and often pay or contract with them directly): Mum's Angels Cleaning, Absolute Domestics.
  • Franchises (a locally owned business quotes and cleans under a national brand): Jim's Cleaning, Houseproud Cleaning, V.I.P. Home Services.
  • Marketplaces (you post a job, compare offers from individuals and choose one): Airtasker.

Each label comes from the business's own terms where it publishes them, and some describe themselves differently in their marketing. For what each arrangement means for insurance, payment and complaints, see independent cleaner or cleaning company?

Clean4you

Booking platform with independent cleaners

A cleaning booking platform with a national flat price grid for regular, deep and end of lease cleaning, using independent contract cleaners.

How it works
Its terms describe a digital platform through which independent contract service providers access work. Clean4you sets the fixed price, schedules the booking, takes payment and runs its Happiness and Bond Back guarantees.
Where it operates
Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and the Gold Coast, plus regional NSW and Darwin. It also has Sydney and Melbourne pages, though some of its own pages leave those cities out.
May suit you if
You want a published flat price by bedrooms, a regular-visit discount, or a bond-back re-clean promise on an end of lease clean, in a city it serves.
Worth knowing
Its terms give two different windows for re-clean claims (24 and 48 hours), charge the full price for same-day cancellations, and set a $5,000 fee if you hire one of its cleaners privately.

Simply Maid (us)

Booking platform with independent cleaners

A booking platform for standard, deep and end of lease cleans at a fixed price for your home, the same in every city it serves. The cleaners are independent contractors.

How it works
You book a fixed-price clean online. Simply Maid sets the price and the checklist, takes payment and runs the re-clean process, and offers the job to independent cleaners near you, who choose whether to accept it.
Where it operates
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth and the Gold Coast.
May suit you if
You want to see a fixed price for your home before you book, have the cleaner arranged for you, and pay after the clean.

What Gold Coast cleaning services publish about price

Gold Coast prices come as hourly rates, starting prices per clean and flat prices by home size, and some pages disagree about GST.

  • Zenpure Cleaning: flat one-time prices from $119 (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom) to $400 (7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms); its price table says these exclude GST but its FAQ says prices include it. Or $66.15 to $73.50 an hour per cleaner.
  • Gold Coast Cleans: a general home clean from $175 per clean (its home page says from $200) and a spring clean from $360; home size not stated. GST not stated.
  • The Cleaning Lady: from $60 an hour per person, plus GST.
  • Mum's Angels Cleaning: $44.00 for regular weekly or fortnightly cleaning and $50.00 for monthly, each with a 3-hour minimum; the page doesn't say whether these are hourly. GST not stated.
  • Cleaner Space: prices only in its online booking form.
  • Totally Houseproud: regular cleans from $40 an hour with your products, or $5 an hour more with theirs; casual cleans from $50 an hour. GST not stated.
  • Absolute Domestics: regular cleans from $82 or $99 for the first 2 hours (its pages differ), then $38 an hour, using your products. GST not stated.
  • Maid2Match: one-time flat rates from $139 (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom), $218 for 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; or from $69.75 an hour for weekly cleans. GST not stated.
  • Airtasker: its Gold Coast house cleaning page shows task prices from $125 to $250, with a median of $170 (updated 28 September 2026), plus a Connection Fee.
  • Jim's Cleaning: from $149 for a basic clean of a three-bedroom single-storey home, set by the local franchisee's quote.
  • Houseproud Cleaning and V.I.P. Home Services quote for each home in the suburbs they cover.
  • Simply Maid: a standard clean of a two-bedroom, one-bathroom home is $253 one-off, and $317 for three bedrooms and two bathrooms, live from our booking calculator, including GST and the Care & Cover fee. The price is the same in every city we serve.

The figures cover different home sizes, scopes and units, and several leave out GST. House cleaning prices on the Gold Coast compares published prices like for like.

What can a cleaner do in 2 or 3 hours?

Two hours suits a small home kept on top of, or a short priority list in a larger one; three hours covers more rooms or more detail. Simply Maid allows 2h of cleaner time for a standard clean of a one-bedroom, one-bathroom home and 3h for three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

  • In two hours, agree a priority order: the main bathroom first, then kitchen surfaces, then the most-used floors. What a cleaner can do in two hours
  • In three hours, a cleaner can usually work through more rooms or more detail. What a cleaner can do in three hours
  • Hourly services on the Gold Coast mostly have a 2-hour minimum, so the minimum sets the smallest booking. A fixed price by home size already allows for the time the clean takes.
  • Two cleaners finish sooner than one, though the total working time is about the same.

Where to read reviews of Gold Coast cleaning services

Reviews on a site the business doesn't control, and how it answers critical ones, tell you more than its own testimonials.

Different sites and customers produce different scores, so we don't compare star ratings between businesses, and we haven't used these services for this guide. Simply Maid's own figures, whatever they show, are on Simply Maid reviews.

How to choose a cleaner on the Gold Coast

Decide what matters most to you, then check that business's own terms before you book.

  • Check they cover your suburb. The Cleaning Lady covers only the southern Gold Coast from Burleigh Heads to Kirra, Cleaner Space the Gold Coast only, and Gold Coast Cleans adds the Scenic Rim and Tweed; Zenpure and Mum's Angels cover much of south-east Queensland.
  • GST and team size. The Cleaning Lady quotes per person before GST, and Zenpure's own pages disagree on whether its flat prices include GST. Ask for the total for your home.
  • Late changes. Zenpure charges a flat $60 inside 24 hours; Gold Coast Cleans charges 25% inside 48 hours, 50% inside 24 hours and the full price inside 4 hours; Cleaner Space may charge a fee inside 24 hours.
  • Parking. In high-rise suburbs such as Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, ask who pays for parking: Gold Coast Cleans adds paid parking to the invoice, and Simply Maid never adds parking costs.

The questions to ask before you book work for any cleaner or business.

Who is responsible for what. Get the responsibility for each job in writing.

Employment, franchise, contractor and introduction models allocate selection, payment, attendance and remedies differently. These are questions for the chosen service, not claims that any model always assigns a duty to a particular party. Establish who selects the cleaner, who receives payment, who manages absence and who can authorise a remedy. A business name or platform label alone does not answer those questions.

How we compare

We compare what each business publishes about how its service works, not how well any one clean was done.

  • What we read. Each provider's own service, pricing, help and terms pages, on the date shown beside each fact. We didn't post jobs, ask for quotes, book cleans or contact sales teams.
  • "Not stated in the sources we reviewed". We couldn't find it on the pages we read. It doesn't mean the business doesn't do it, so ask them.
  • Platform terms and individual cleaners. On a marketplace or through an agency, much is set by the person you book. We describe the platform's or agency's published terms, not any one cleaner's.
  • Prices. We compare like for like where we can: the same service, home size and frequency, with GST, minimum hours and fees noted. Simply Maid's prices are live from our booking calculator. Other figures are labelled as published rates, "from" prices or marketplace task prices, and we never work out an hourly rate from a fixed price.
  • No scores or winners. We don't rate providers or pick a winner. Star ratings on different sites come from different customers, so we don't compare them.
  • Which providers. The services that appear most often in Google results for house cleaning across the seven cities we serve, plus agencies that serve most of those cities.
  • Corrections. If something here is wrong or out of date, email hello@simplymaid.com.au and we'll check it and correct the page. We re-read every source at least every three months.
