- Cancelling within 24 hours costs $66 including GST, and a lockout with the cleaner on site costs $165 (its home page FAQ says $166). Its price tables and regular-clean discounts differ between pages, its terms set a 2-hour minimum, and you can't hire its cleaners directly for 12 months.

How much do cleaners charge per hour in Canberra?
Few Canberra businesses publish an hourly rate. Most local services price per visit or quote, and the national agencies publish $60 to $69.75 an hour, usually with a 2-hour minimum.
- Mint Cleaning Group charges per cleaner per hour, with a 2-hour minimum for regular cleans and 3 hours for spring cleans, but doesn't publish the rate.
- Family Clean: $60 an hour per person, 2-hour minimum, plus a one-off matching fee, using your products.
- Maid2Match: from $69.75 an hour for weekly cleans, 2-hour minimum.
- Absolute Domestics: $82 or $99 for the first 2 hours (its pages differ), then $38 an hour, using your products.
- Serene Clean, Privilege Cleaning, Dream City Cleaning, Cosmic Cleaning and Call The Cleaners price per visit or quote rather than by the hour.
Simply Maid doesn't charge by the hour: a standard clean is a fixed price for your home, $253 one-off for two bedrooms and one bathroom, including GST and the Care & Cover fee.
What Canberra cleaning services publish about price
Canberra prices are mostly per visit, from flat prices by home size to quotes after a walkthrough, and they aren't directly comparable.
- Privilege Cleaning: flat prices for a general clean, from $140 for 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom to $180 for 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; larger homes by phone. GST not stated.
- Call The Cleaners: Canberra house cleaning from $150 (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom) to $540 (8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms); deep cleans $190 to $610. GST not stated.
- Serene Clean Canberra: most recurring cleans $230 to $295 a visit including GST, as a fixed price set after a short walkthrough.
- Cosmic Cleaning ACT: an online calculator showing $106.08 a clean for a studio with one bathroom every 2 weeks, with 20% off weekly, 15% fortnightly and 10% every 4 weeks.
- Dream City Cleaning: quotes in person; its FAQ gives $100 to $200 a week as an example for a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with 2 living areas. GST not stated.
- Mint Cleaning Group and The Greener Cleaner publish no prices; The Greener Cleaner prices through online booking or by phone.

- Family Clean: $60 an hour per person with a 2-hour minimum, plus a one-off $370 matching fee, using your products.
- Airtasker: its Canberra house cleaning page shows task prices from $125 to $250, with a median of $160 (updated 5 October 2026), plus a Connection Fee.
- Jim's Cleaning: from $149 for a basic clean of a three-bedroom single-storey home, set by the local franchisee's quote.
- Simply Maid: a standard clean of a two-bedroom, one-bathroom home is $253 one-off, and $317 for three bedrooms and two bathrooms, live from our booking calculator, including GST and the Care & Cover fee. The price is the same in every city we serve.

What can a cleaner do in 2 or 3 hours?
Two hours suits a small home kept on top of, or a short priority list in a larger one; three hours covers more rooms or more detail. Simply Maid allows 2h of cleaner time for a standard clean of a one-bedroom, one-bathroom home and 3h for three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
- In two hours, agree a priority order: the main bathroom first, then kitchen surfaces, then the most-used floors. What a cleaner can do in two hours

- Hourly services in Canberra mostly have a 2-hour minimum, so the minimum sets the smallest booking. A fixed price by home size already allows for the time the clean takes.
- Two cleaners finish sooner than one, though the total working time is about the same.
Where to read reviews of Canberra cleaning services
Reviews on a site the business doesn't control, and how it answers critical ones, tell you more than its own testimonials.
- ProductReview: house cleaning in the Australian Capital Territory lists many of these businesses together.
- Each service's ProductReview page: Call The Cleaners, Airtasker, Jim's Cleaning, Absolute Domestics, Maid2Match, Family Clean, Clean4you, Simply Maid.
- Google Business Profiles. Search for the business and Canberra on Google Maps, then sort its reviews by newest and look for homes and services like yours.
- Local forums and community groups, such as Reddit and Facebook groups for your area, are where people ask for personal recommendations.
- Read the replies. How a business answers a critical review tells you how it handles a complaint.
Different sites and customers produce different scores, so we don't compare star ratings between businesses, and we haven't used these services for this guide. Simply Maid's own figures, whatever they show, are on Simply Maid reviews.
How to choose a cleaner in Canberra
Decide what matters most to you, then check that business's own terms before you book.
- Check they cover your district. Serene Clean covers Weston Creek, Woden, Molonglo Valley, the Inner South and Tuggeranong, and its map shows Belconnen, Gungahlin and the Inner North as not serviced. Mint, The Greener Cleaner and Cosmic Cleaning cover all of Canberra and Queanbeyan.
- Late changes. Mint charges 50% within 2 business days and 100% within 1, Serene 75% inside 24 hours, Call The Cleaners $66 and Cosmic Cleaning $60 inside 24 hours.
- How the price is set. Privilege, Call The Cleaners and Simply Maid publish prices by home size; Serene sets a price after a walkthrough, and Dream City quotes after a home visit.
- Who does the cleaning. Dream City and Serene say their cleaners are employees; Cosmic Cleaning's terms make the clean a contract with a cleaning business in its network.
The questions to ask before you book work for any cleaner or business.
Employment, franchise, contractor and introduction models allocate selection, payment, attendance and remedies differently. These are questions for the chosen service, not claims that any model always assigns a duty to a particular party. Establish who selects the cleaner, who receives payment, who manages absence and who can authorise a remedy. A business name or platform label alone does not answer those questions.

How we compare
We compare what each business publishes about how its service works, not how well any one clean was done.
- What we read. Each provider's own service, pricing, help and terms pages, on the date shown beside each fact. We didn't post jobs, ask for quotes, book cleans or contact sales teams.
- "Not stated in the sources we reviewed". We couldn't find it on the pages we read. It doesn't mean the business doesn't do it, so ask them.
- Platform terms and individual cleaners. On a marketplace or through an agency, much is set by the person you book. We describe the platform's or agency's published terms, not any one cleaner's.
- Prices. We compare like for like where we can: the same service, home size and frequency, with GST, minimum hours and fees noted. Simply Maid's prices are live from our booking calculator. Other figures are labelled as published rates, "from" prices or marketplace task prices, and we never work out an hourly rate from a fixed price.
- No scores or winners. We don't rate providers or pick a winner. Star ratings on different sites come from different customers, so we don't compare them.
- Which providers. The services that appear most often in Google results for house cleaning across the seven cities we serve, plus agencies that serve most of those cities.
- Corrections. If something here is wrong or out of date, email hello@simplymaid.com.au and we'll check it and correct the page. We re-read every source at least every three months.
