Our comparison method
How we compare cleaning services (2026)
Change log and editorial creditsQuick answer: Simply Maid publishes these comparisons and competes with the providers in them. We compare their documented offers, prices and conditions with ours, and explain which differences matter for a particular job. We do not award quality scores or claim to have tested competitor cleans. Each important provider fact carries its source and the date it was checked.
A useful comparison should show its workings. Here is how to read our guides, what the evidence can establish, and what still needs confirming in your own quote.
Our interest in your decision
We would like you to consider Simply Maid. You should be able to see where our offer fits and where another arrangement may suit you.
Our company writes and publishes these guides. The Simply Maid column is labelled '(us)', and the disclosure appears near the beginning of every comparison. A link to our booking flow is a commercial next step. It does not turn an advertised offer into evidence of better cleaning.
A provider is not endorsed merely because it appears here. Inclusion is not a claim that every job, postcode or requested date is available. Confirm those details before paying or arranging access.
Which providers appear, and in what order?
We select a useful range of verified service models and local options for the task a reader is trying to book.
The research starts with service and city queries, provider websites and relevant existing comparisons. We then check that each shortlisted business advertises the particular service in the relevant area. Being a house-cleaning company alone does not qualify a business for a carpet or commercial comparison.
National guides may include regional providers to explain different models. Their geographic limits stay visible. City guides need evidence for that city, locally applicable offers and practical differences; we do not create a page simply because a city name can be inserted.
Simply Maid comes first in the main side-by-side table so our interest is clear. Provider profiles and other lists may use a different editorial order. No position carries a quality or price ranking. Lists are selective, not a directory of every operator. We exclude a provider when the relevant offer cannot be confirmed from the sources available to us.
What we compare
The criteria follow the job: what will be done, how the price is set and what happens before and after the visit.
For carpets, that includes the proposed method, carpet suitability, room limits, minimums, stain treatment, furniture and drying guidance. For business premises, it includes routine versus specialist scope, cleaner-hours, consumables, access, supervision, cover, contract terms and issue reporting. For a move-out clean, it includes property size, oven and window work, carpet additions, furnished-home conditions and re-clean timing.
'Not stated in the sources we reviewed' means we did not find a clear answer in the material checked. It does not mean a provider lacks the feature. Ask for the missing term in writing. For franchises, marketplaces and introductions, distinguish the network's promise from the local operator's accepted scope.
Source checks and their limits
Provider websites establish what a business advertises. They do not independently establish the quality of its work.
We use the provider's own service, price, coverage, help and terms pages, and link the relevant source beside the fact. The check date means that source was reviewed on that date; it is not a promise the offer will remain unchanged. A source publication date is recorded when it is available.
A search snippet or another comparison site's summary is a lead for research, not the sole basis for an important claim. When a page redirects away from a service or conflicts with a more specific current page, we investigate or leave the point unresolved. We disclose material contradictions rather than choosing whichever version favours us.
We have not commissioned competitor cleans, completed their checkouts, requested private quotes or contacted sales teams for these guides. Named human author or review credits must reflect actual involvement; a source-check date alone is not a human endorsement.

A provider-published offer describes an advertised purchase and its conditions. The Simply Maid calculator uses current rates for the selected inputs and is not a competitor quote. Past customer payments describe an identified historical sample, not the price of every future job. These evidence types cannot replace one another. A historical sample needs its period, geography, scope, sample size and exclusions; none of these categories alone establishes an industry average or a quality ranking.

Keep the source, scope and date with every figure.
How to read the prices
Amounts are only comparable when the job, unit, tax treatment and conditions are comparable.
Simply Maid's current prices in the new service comparisons come from the live pricing data used by our booking system. If a value is unavailable, the affected figure is omitted rather than replaced with an old estimate. The configured booking total remains the amount to check for your selections.
Other providers' figures are dated advertised prices. We keep 'from' labels, promotions, room or property assumptions, minimums, GST treatment and known extras beside them. A quote-only offer stays quote-only. An undisclosed charge does not become zero.
We do not divide fixed packages into invented hourly rates or multiply a per-room price without checking its minimum and room definition. A worked calculation is labelled as illustrative arithmetic from the stated offer, not a price someone actually paid. Regional offers are not presented as an Australian average, and different scopes are not sorted into a cheapest-to-dearest ranking.

Compare equivalent work and arrangements before comparing prices. Unstated fees or terms remain unknown until confirmed; this diagram does not rank providers.

Simply Maid booking evidence
Our own records can describe our customers' experience and choices. They cannot stand in for the whole Australian cleaning market.
When a guide uses a booking statistic, it must state the service definition, geography, period, completed-job sample, calculation and exclusions. Quotes, enquiries, cancelled jobs and completed visits are different populations. Discounts, extras and tax treatment need consideration before historical payments can be interpreted.
Existing pricing rollups suppress medians below 30 visits or 20 customers, and price ranges below 50 visits. Any national fallback must be labelled national. General house-cleaning history is not evidence for a newer commercial or carpet-extraction service. We do not publish customer-identifying details or invent a case study to fill a page.
The initial specialist comparison guides use documented offers and practical scenario analysis. They do not claim a new analysis of completed specialist jobs or compare competitors against our historical customer payments.
Corrections and updates
Tell us which page, claim and source need checking so we can investigate the specific point.
Email hello@simplymaid.com.au with the comparison URL, the statement and a current primary source or explanation. Providers can use the same process as customers. An error should be corrected wherever the shared fact is used, including its check date and any calculation that depends on it.
Prices, promotions, minimums and remedy deadlines need rechecking before publication and during each scheduled content review. A material change should receive a visible update note describing what changed. The date is not refreshed merely because a page was reformatted. Readers should confirm the current written quote and conditions before booking.
