When to book your end of lease clean
Book it for after the removalists have finished and, where you can, a few days before the final inspection. That leaves time to walk through, tell us within 48 hours if anything on the checklist was missed, and have it fixed before the agent arrives.
An empty home
The clean is planned for an empty property, so cupboards, wardrobes and the space behind appliances can be reached. Furniture or boxes left behind limit what can be cleaned.
Power and water on
Keep the electricity and water connected until the clean is done. Without them the clean can’t go ahead, and a fee may apply.
Keys and access
We don’t hold keys. Leave a lockbox code or meet the cleaner, and book any lift, loading dock or visitor access in advance.
Parking
Arrange a visitor space or add parking instructions; where there’s nowhere to park, the clean may need to be rescheduled.

Carpet steam cleaning isn’t part of the clean itself; vacuuming is included. You can add carpet steam cleaning in booking or book it on its own. If your lease asks for a professional carpet clean, keep the receipt.
Regrouting, sealing, exterior windows and other specialist work aren’t part of our cleans. A balcony, patio or garage can be added as an extra; ask the team about anything else before booking.

Mould removal isn’t part of our clean. We clean tiles, grout and silicone on the checklist, but mould that has grown in needs a specialist, and mould from a building fault is a repair matter for the rental provider.
04Do apartment buildings need lift access booked?
Most Melbourne towers do. Owners corporations often require the service lift to be booked and limit hours, so confirm the window with your building manager when you book.

What an exit clean involves in Melbourne
Melbourne's housing stock is old in the inner suburbs and new on the fringe, and exit cleans differ sharply between them. Period homes through Carlton, Fitzroy, Brunswick and Northcote bring the details agents look for: ornate cornices, ceiling roses, deep skirtings, hydronic panel radiators, original hearths, and single-glazed sash windows whose tracks and putty lines collect years of dust. Southbank, Docklands and the CBD towers are the opposite problem, where the work concentrates in floor-to-ceiling glass, balcony sliders, European laundries stacked into a cupboard, and building access that has to be booked through the owners corporation. Out through the eastern and western growth corridors you get larger newer homes where the volume is in second bathrooms, walk-in robes, flyscreens and double garages. Damp winters also bring bathroom and window-reveal mould; mould removal isn’t part of our clean, so raise it early.

An empty-home clean works best when access and utilities are arranged. If carpet extraction is booked, plan drying separately. Cleaning does not guarantee a bond result.

We review it again and provide a fair credit or refund, as the terms set out.

Work outside the checklist you booked, or a clean that couldn’t be finished because there was no access, power or water. And no cleaner can promise your bond back: a claim can also cover rent, damage and other matters, decided against your condition report.
