How much does commercial cleaning cost?

$99 per cleaner-hour including GST, with a 2-hour minimum. A recurring schedule of one to four visits a week takes 20% off the cleaning charge. Care & Cover is added to each visit, and booking shows the full total before you pay.

Current Simply Maid price · AUD including GST and Care & Cover · per visit
Cleaner-hours per visitOne-off visitEach visit on a weekly plan
2 hours$210$169
3 hours$312$251
4 hours$414$332

Two visits a week cost twice the weekly per-visit price; the discount stays at 20% whether you book one visit a week or four. There is no lock-in contract, and a visit can be cancelled free at least 24 hours before it starts. Plan a weekly or monthly budget in the pricing guide.

How many hours will my premises need?

Booking suggests hours from your floor area, desks, rooms, kitchenettes and toilets. These examples use the same estimate. It is a starting point, not a promise to finish any premises in that time: you choose the hours you buy, and you can change them after the first visit.

Suggested cleaner-hours per visit · cleaning charge including GST, before Care & Cover
Example premisesSuggested hoursOne-off cleaning chargeWeekly plan, per visit
Ground-floor business up to 100 m²: reception, one kitchenette, two toilets2 hours$198$158.40
Shared floor of 201–400 m²: reception, two lounges, one kitchenette, four toilets4.5 hours$445.50$356.40

Over 400 m², or more than 40 desks, booking does not suggest hours; choose them yourself, up to six cleaner-hours a visit. Two cleaners for one hour count as two cleaner-hours.

Which kind of business clean suits a Canberra workplace?

Government is the ACT's biggest field of work. At the 2021 Census, 17.1% of employed ACT residents worked in central government administration, against 1.1% nationally, and another 5.8% worked in defence. ACT Government cleaning is bought through Procurement ACT, and businesses tendering for it must hold a Secure Local Jobs Code certificate. This page is for a business booking a routine clean directly, not for a government tender.

Outside government, the ACT's own planning strategy found that between 2011 and 2018 services such as banks, cafes, health and professional services took up a growing share of town centre floor space, ahead of retail. That mix is what this service covers: a small office or professional suite, a shop or showroom, a gym or studio, or the shared kitchen, bathrooms and meeting rooms in a building with several tenants.

Medical, food production and industrial cleaning are not part of it. A clinic or consulting rooms near the hospital in Garran, or a warehouse floor in Fyshwick or Mitchell needs a specialist. An office or showroom in the same suburbs is a routine clean.

Where Canberra's workplaces are, and getting in after hours

Canberra is not one CBD. The ACT Planning Strategy 2018 lists the city's top work locations at the 2016 Census as the City with 36,600 jobs, then Belconnen 14,335, Fyshwick 13,430, Phillip in Woden 13,230, Barton 12,450 and Greenway in Tuggeranong 11,030, followed by Canberra Airport, Russell, Acton and Garran. The same strategy names employment areas that grew outside the centres, including Lonsdale Street in Braddon, the Equinox Business Park in Deakin and Canberra Airport. In December 2025 the planning minister named six town centres, counting the City Centre with Belconnen, Gungahlin, Molonglo Valley, Tuggeranong and Woden.

That spread changes how a visit is planned. An office above the shops in a town centre, a tenancy in a city office block and a business park unit at the airport each have different entry rules. Office buildings often lock their front doors after hours and need a swipe card or an escort for lifts and car parks. Some ask contractors to sign in at a security desk or complete an induction first.

Put all of it in the access instructions when you book: the entry door, how the cleaner gets a card or key, which floors and rooms are included, any rooms to leave alone, and who to call if a door will not open. Name an on-site contact who can answer the phone at the time of the visit. If your building manager needs contractor details or insurance papers before anyone works after hours, ask us before you choose a date.

Parking, loading zones, keys and alarms

A cleaner carrying equipment needs to park near the door. In the city centre, ACT Government pay parking from 1 July 2026 charges $4.00 to $5.00 an hour in short-stay bays and up to $15.00 a day in all-day other parking, and some city locations offer after-hours parking on weeknights and weekends at $2.00 an hour, up to $7.00. Once the signposted evening hours have passed, ACT Government car parks are free until they start again in the morning. Belconnen, Woden and Tuggeranong town centres have their own pay parking rates.

Parts of Parkes, Barton, Russell and Acton are National land, where the National Capital Authority runs pay parking from 8.30 am to 5 pm on weekdays. From 1 July 2026 short stay costs $4.40 an hour and long stay $18.00 a day, and the authority says parking restrictions apply 24 hours a day unless signs say otherwise.

Loading zones are not a free bay for the visit. Access Canberra says a goods-carrying vehicle may stop in one only while loading or unloading, while a sedan or hatchback needs a paid 10-minute permit and a passenger van a 10, 20 or 30-minute one. If your building has a visitor bay, a basement space or a loading dock the cleaner can use, say so in the booking.

For keys and alarms, decide before the first visit whether a key, swipe card or lockbox will be used, and how it is returned. Give the alarm code and the arming steps in the access instructions, along with the monitoring company's number in case the alarm is set off. If the code changes, update the booking.

How Canberra bookings are matched to cleaners

Availability is on request. Book online or call 1300 009 363, and we confirm your date once a cleaner approved for business work can reach your address and fit the full visit. Nothing is charged before that. The dates offered depend on who is available for that part of Canberra. After-hours arrival windows are offered only where an approved cleaner can fit the full visit, and no visit starts after 9 pm.

Book without a site visit or a contract

  1. Choose your premises and weekly days, or a one-off visit.
  2. Select an area range, add amenities and choose your cleaner-hours.
  3. Enter the address, mobile number and access instructions. Add a colleague as the on-site contact if needed.
  4. Choose your first date and arrival window, review the full total and book.

Cleaner-hours are the total cleaning labour you purchase. Where a team attends, the elapsed visit may be shorter. Additional work needs your agreement.

Questions before you book

How much does commercial cleaning cost in Canberra?

$99 per cleaner-hour including GST, plus Care & Cover, with a minimum of 2 cleaner-hours ($210 for that one-off visit, including GST and Care & Cover). Recurring schedules of one to four visits a week get 20% off the cleaning charge.

Can you clean our office after hours in Civic or Barton?

Yes, where an approved cleaner can fit the full visit; no visit starts after 9 pm. Pay parking on National land in Barton stops at 5 pm on weekdays, and some city centre car parks have a lower after-hours rate.

Do you take ACT Government cleaning contracts?

ACT Government cleaning is bought through Procurement ACT, and tenderers must provide a Secure Local Jobs Code certificate. This online service is for businesses booking a routine clean directly.

Is there a lock-in contract?

No. Recurring visits have no lock-in, and you can cancel a visit free of charge at least 24 hours before it starts.

Can you clean a medical practice or a Fyshwick warehouse?

No. Medical, food production and industrial cleaning are outside this service and need a specialist. The office, reception or showroom space of a business in Fyshwick or Mitchell can be booked as a routine clean.
