How much does carpet cleaning cost in Melbourne?

How long until I can walk on the carpet and put furniture back?
It depends on the fibre, how wet the carpet needed to be, airflow and the weather, so your cleaner tells you on the day rather than us promising a fixed number of hours. Open windows or run fans where you can, keep pets and shoes off, and wait until the carpet is dry to the touch before furniture goes back. The cleaner time in the calculator is the visit itself; drying continues after it.

A room-size band changes the comparison
Measure length and width for the carpeted spaces you want cleaned. Keep a bedroom, an open living area and a passage as separate entries. Give every provider that same list before asking for a total.
The Doctor Carpet west-Melbourne price list separates size bands and Basic/Deep options. It also distinguishes standard and apartment minimums. Those distinctions explain why multiplying the first advertised room rate can misstate the final quote. Confirm the current offer and GST treatment with the provider.

Test a small-job quote against its minimum
For a hypothetical single-bedroom job, first check that the bedroom fits the stated allowance. Then compare the selected-work total with the provider's visit minimum and add any applicable fees. Do not add the minimum on top if it is a floor rather than an extra charge.

Compare the method and preparation as well as money
Ask what process the quoted service uses, who vacuums first, what furniture remains and how stain concerns are handled. A surface-maintenance option is not automatically equivalent to hot-water extraction.
If the carpet's care instructions specify a process, send them before booking. A suitable method matters more than a small apparent saving on a quote for different work. Use the steam-versus-dry guide to frame the questions without assuming one method suits every material.
