How much does a deep clean cost in Melbourne?

A deep clean of a 1 bed, 1 bath home costs $329 one-off, against $221 for a standard clean, and the difference holds at every home size because both rise by the same amount per room.

The difference buys more time for detailed work on the dishwasher, bathroom vanities, range hood, tile grout, skirting boards and window sills and tracks. Cleaning inside the oven is included. Cleaning inside the fridge and inside kitchen cabinets and drawers is optional and costs extra. Compare the same tasks, including the oven, fridge and cupboard interiors, by adding any paid extras to both service prices. Choose a deep clean when the home needs its broader detailed checklist. Interior window glass is an extra on both. See the deep clean checklist for every task. Moving out, or into an empty home? An end of lease clean is planned for that and includes interior window glass.

What do Melbourne companies charge for a deep clean?

One Melbourne company in our comparison publishes fixed deep clean prices by home size: O2O Cleaning lists $249 for 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and $369 for 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and its page doesn't say whether GST is included.

The gap is mostly scope. O2O's flat price covers general areas, kitchen exteriors, bathroom grout, skirting boards and floors, and sells the inside of the oven (+$70), the rangehood filter (+$50), the inside of the fridge (+$50) and inside cupboards and drawers (+$60) as add-ons. The oven and the rangehood filters are on our deep checklist, so a like-for-like comparison adds those two: $369 for its 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home and $489 for 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, before the GST question is settled. Fridge and cupboard interiors are optional extras with us too.

The same page prices bathrooms as well as bedrooms. Three bedrooms with one bathroom is $299 against $369 with two, and each extra bathroom is +$70, so count every bathroom on every quote. Its 7-day bond-back guarantee applies to end of lease cleans; we didn't find a re-clean promise for its deep clean. Ours is 48 hours for anything in the agreed scope.

Hourly pricing works differently. Cleaning Professionals' Melbourne deep cleaning page, opened on Sunday 11 October 2026, charges $70 an hour with a three-hour minimum and publishes no prices by home size, so the total depends on the hours taken. Its page lists the oven and fridge both as included and as optional add-ons, so ask which applies before you compare.

Deep clean. Of 2 published prices from 1 company for the same bedrooms and bathrooms as a home we price, both are lower than ours. None of them say whether GST is included; ours includes it. By their own pages, 1 company charges extra for the oven, which our deep clean includes.

Published prices read from each provider’s own website on 12 October 2026, as advertised, not quotes for a specific home. GST is shown only where the provider states it; an ex-GST price is compared with 10% added. A price is counted as lower or higher only when it is a stated price for the same bedrooms and bathrooms and is not a regular-visit rate. A page that doesn’t mention a task tells us nothing about whether it is included. Hourly-only prices, provider-written cost guides, marketplace estimates and end of lease packages are left out; the table counts only a fixed price for a stated number of bedrooms and bathrooms on the provider's own page.

What extras can I add to a deep clean?

Cleaning inside the oven is included. Cleaning inside the fridge and inside kitchen cabinets and drawers is optional and costs extra. Interior window glass, wall washing, blinds, balconies, garages and laundry are also optional extras. The table shows their current prices.

“Included” means the task is on that service’s checklist at no extra charge; “not offered” means it is neither on the checklist nor bookable as an extra for that service. Listed prices include GST. Because the Care & Cover fee includes card processing, which grows with the total, an extra adds a little more than its listed price: the $46 inside oven deep clean extra adds $47 to a 2 bed, 1 bath one-off. Extras on a regular plan are charged on the first visit unless you add them again. On completed cleans since our current booking platform began in April 2026, 24% of standard cleans (125) and 37% of deep cleans (89) added at least one paid extra.

How does build-up affect a deep clean?

Some build-up adds 60 minutes of cleaner time with a listed price adjustment of $93, before recurring frequency adjustments. A home that needs a proper reset has its own allowance and charge. The table uses current booking totals for the same home; first-visit adjustments drop off later visits.

Before you book, compare the cost of the condition charge with the price difference to a standard clean: a home that has gone a while often needs a deep clean's extra time anyway. The table shows each total for the same home.

AUD per visit, including GST and the Care & Cover fee. Simply Maid list prices from our booking calculator, with no extras or discount code. Each total is the booking calculator’s own result for these choices. The listed charge is not the amount a total rises by: on a one-off clean $93 adds $96, because the Care & Cover fee includes card processing and totals are rounded; on a plan of visits every 4 weeks the 10% plan discount also applies to it on the first visit, so it adds $86. Time allowances are shown before recurring frequency adjustments. The charge applies to the first visit only, because that is the visit that clears the build-up; later visits return to the regular price.

What changes the price of a Melbourne deep clean?

Not the city: our price is set by bedrooms and bathrooms and is the same everywhere; what changes a Melbourne total is the extras you add and the build-up a damp winter leaves behind.

The oven was the extra Melbourne added most

In our Melbourne booking history, 567 deep and first-visit cleans from November 2017 to August 2024, 45.5% added at least one extra. The inside of the oven was the most common (18.2%), then inside windows or sliding doors (16.8%) and the balcony (11.3%); carpet steam cleaning was rare (4.2%). The inside of the oven is now part of the deep clean, so it no longer adds to the price. Interior windows and a balcony or patio clean are still optional extras, priced in the table below.

Two bedrooms, one bathroom is the common Melbourne job

Two bedrooms and one bathroom was the most booked Melbourne layout in that history (151 of 567), followed by three bedrooms and two bathrooms (111). Melbourne has more semi-detached homes, terraces and townhouses than the country as a whole, 16.2% of occupied homes against 12.6% nationally in the 2021 Census (ABS). The price doesn't change with the number of levels; it changes with the number of bathrooms, so include an ensuite when you choose your size.

After winter, build-up adds time

Melbourne's mean 9 am humidity is 77% to 80% from May to July (Bureau of Meteorology), and Victoria's Building and Plumbing Commission lists condensation on windows and sills and mould in bathrooms as the usual signs (BPC). Window sills and tracks and grout are already in the deep clean, but heavy build-up can add time to the booking. Soft water helps: Melbourne's supply is mostly well under the 60 mg/L that counts as soft (Yarra Valley Water; NHMRC), so descaling is rarely what stretches a Melbourne clean.

How long does a deep clean take?

The table shows the cleaner time we book for a deep clean by home size; a team of two shares it, so they are on site for about half as long.

Planned time: what one cleaner would spend on a home that has been kept on top of, with no extras. A team of two shares it, so they are on site for about half as long; the price does not change. Elapsed time on site: on 165 recent cleans with check-in and check-out times from our cleaner app, it was a median 99% of the visit's scheduled window (middle half 79–115%); a team's window is shorter because the work is shared. Measured labour: every cleaner's clocked time added together came to a median 2h 49m for a standard clean, across 90 of those visits.

Melbourne deep cleaning price questions

Is a deep clean dearer in Melbourne than in other cities?

Not with us. The price is the same in every city: $329 for 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, $361 for 2 and 1, $425 for 3 and 2, and $457 for 4 and 2, including GST.

How does your price compare with a $249 deep clean?

Mostly because of what is in it. The $249 Melbourne price we compared leaves out the inside of the oven and the rangehood filter; with both added it is $369 for the same 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home, against our $361 including GST.

Is the oven included in a Melbourne deep clean?

Yes, the inside of the oven and the rangehood are part of every deep clean. The inside of the fridge and of kitchen cupboards are optional extras.

Do you charge for parking in the CBD or Southbank?

No. We don't add parking costs to your booking, but the cleaner needs somewhere to park, so add a visitor bay or parking instructions to your booking notes; central city kerbside parking is limited to two hours.

Are older Melbourne prices in your booking history what I'll pay now?

No. The history tables show what customers paid on our old rate cards between 2017 and 2024; today's price is the live price at the top of this page.

Is a deep clean dearer in Melbourne?

Not with us: our price is set by your home's bedrooms and bathrooms and is the same in every city we serve. Other companies' prices vary within each city, so compare what each quote includes.

How we worked out these figures

Today's prices come from our live booking calculator, Melbourne market prices from local companies' own websites, and history from our completed bookings, each labelled where it appears.

Prices are read from the same calculator the booking form uses each time this page is shown; it has no location input, so they are the same in every city. Market prices are what Melbourne companies publish on their own websites for a deep clean, read on the date shown with the table; we leave out marketplaces, comparison guides and copied network tables, and we never average the ends of a range. Booking history is from our previous platform; a median needs 30 bookings from 20 customers and a share needs 30, and anything below that is left out. The national guide sets out the method in full.
