Need more time on a job

Tap Request More Time. The customer approves by SMS (auto-approved after 30 minutes) and your pay goes up with the extra time.

Updated Sep 2, 2026

Jobs are booked by the hour, so if a home needs longer than what was booked, you ask for more time — you don't just work unpaid.

When to use it

  • The home is bigger, dirtier or more cluttered than the booking described.

  • The customer asks for things that aren't on the checklist.

  • You're partway through and can see you won't finish the checklist in time.

How it works

  1. Open the job and tap Request More Time. On the Today page this appears in the first 30 minutes after you start; on the booking page it's available for the whole job.

  2. Choose +1 Hour or +2 Hours. The app shows what the customer will be charged.

  3. Tap Send Request to Customer. They get an SMS to approve or decline. If they don't answer within 30 minutes it's approved automatically.

  4. Once approved, the extra time is added to the job and to your pay at your hourly rate (split across the team if you're working as a pair).

If the customer declines, finish the booked time as well as you can, prioritise the areas they care about, and let them know what you couldn't get to.

Extra services the customer asks for on the spot — inside the oven, inside the fridge, windows — are charged as extras. Ask them to add it through us or call 1300 009 363 before you do the work.
