Safety, valuables and conduct

Your safety comes first. Leave valuables where they are. Only approved cleaners attend jobs.

Updated Sep 2, 2026

If you feel unsafe

Your safety comes before any job. If you feel threatened or uncomfortable in a home, leave. Call 000 if you need to. Once you're safe, call 1300 009 363 and tell us what happened — we'll handle the booking and the customer.

Don't clean anything hazardous: mould, sharps, bodily fluids, animal waste, pest infestations. Report it with Need help? → Home in Bad Condition instead.

Valuables and privacy

  • Leave cash, jewellery and valuables exactly where you find them. If something is on the floor, put it somewhere visible like a table.

  • Don't open drawers or cupboards that aren't part of the job.

  • Don't photograph anything in a home except damage or hazards you're reporting.

  • What you see in a customer's home stays there.

Only approved cleaners

Every person who attends a Simply Maid job must have completed our application, ID check and onboarding. Bringing an unapproved helper — even family — voids the insurance and ends your account. If you want to work as a pair, invite them from your Profile (Invite a Team Member) and they'll do the onboarding.

Pets

Ask the customer to secure pets before you start. If an animal is loose and making it impossible to clean, contact the customer, then report it through Need help?.

Theft

Any theft results in immediate removal from the platform and may be reported to police.
