Hot or cold? Choose the right wash temperature

Hot or cold? Start with the item. We're using Levi's white Original Housemark tee. Check its care directions first. This tee calls for a cold machine wash, inside out with similar colours. No bleach, and low heat if tumble drying. Other tees may differ. On a care label, the number in the wash tub is the maximum temperature. The cycle and drying instructions matter as well. Separate items that need different care. Then check the detergent directions and your machine's programme guide before choosing a setting. Choose a temperature and programme that meet all those instructions. Cold suits this example; hotter isn't automatically better. Dishes, floors and disinfectants have different requirements.
