What the work is like in Sydney

Most jobs are regular cleans of the same homes every week, fortnight or four weeks, with one-off deep cleans and end of lease cleans in between.

Each job comes with the address, the time, the scope and the payment before you accept it. Regular customers mean you clean the same homes and get to know them; the app keeps the job checklist, the access details and the customer's notes in one place.

The work follows our three services:

  • Standard cleaning: the regular clean of kitchens, bathrooms, floors and living areas.
  • Deep cleaning: a longer, more detailed clean, often the first visit or a seasonal clean.
  • End of lease cleaning: an empty home cleaned to the standard an agent inspects against.

Sydney has the most booked work of our seven cities, but how much reaches you still depends on your hours, your travel range and bookings near you.

What you earn in Sydney

The starting base rate in Sydney is $45 an hour, the same as in every city we work in.

You're paid for the cleaning time allocated to each job at your rate, so a job allocated three hours pays $135 at the starting rate. Rates rise with your tier as you build a track record, up to $48 an hour. Same-day jobs carry a $20 bonus, and long drives earn a drive bonus.

Pay goes to your Australian bank account in a weekly pay run, and the app shows your earnings and payouts as you go. As a contractor you cover your own kit, products, travel, tax and insurance from what you earn. How much cleaners get paid compares this with award wages and running your own clients.

  • Experience. We're looking for people who already clean homes well: solo cleaners, teams and cleaning businesses.
  • An ABN. You work as an independent contractor; a cleaning company applies with its company ABN.
  • Your own kit. A vacuum, mop, cloths and cleaning products. See equipment and supplies.

  • A smartphone. Jobs, checklists and pay are all in the app.

Getting around Sydney

Sydney is spread out and has many toll roads, so set a travel range you can cover with your kit in normal traffic, and count tolls and parking in what a job is worth to you. Apartment buildings often need a booking for loading-dock or visitor parking; the job details tell you how to get in.
